A decent mystery, a good concept, decent characters but a very good plotline. A must read if you love reading mysteries.
I’ve been a big fan of the Joe Hunter series for a number of years, ever since I read and reviewed the first one. I was excited to discover his new series and although this has a totally different feel and atmosphere to it, it still includes all the Matt Hilton trademarks – action, relationships and humour. You can’t really go wrong.
We are introduced to PI Tess Grey and her sidekick Nicholas Villere (or Po) who has served time in Angola, one of the world’s toughest prisons, and has turned a corner. The relationship is excellent and well developed but it’s Po’s character that I really liked. He has a lot of baggage, especially at home with a colourful family.
Plenty of action as you’d expect and thriller writing that keeps you turning the page over in double quick time. A very entertaining read.
