There is a reason why I love new adult. Yes, some can be over the top angst with a generous amount of sex. There are others that are so emotionally raw, they'll stick with for you for a long time. Last Wish was one of those books. It is beautifully written book about love and forgiveness. From the moment I met Ronan and Em I couldn't stop myself from falling under their spell. Their young love made me swoon. I wanted to stand tall next to Em as she dealt with her ex-boyfriend. I want to be her friend as she heals, both emotionally and physically. Ronan is dealing with his own emotional issues from the death of his best friend. I wanted to hug him as he fights with himself and push him towards forgiveness rather than being angry at the world. As much as I loved Last Wish, I will say that I missed a lot of the background story by not reading the first book, How We Lived, before picking up Em and Ronan's book. I will be the first to admit that it was entirely my fault. If you want the complete story, I highly suggest picking up How We Lived first. I have added it to my TBR and I hope to get to it soon as I can piece together some of what happened before the events in Last Wish. I can't wait to try more of Erin Butler's books.
