Learning is a great thing, but education systems do not operate with the goal of making us learn. a lot of us have faded into rote-memorisation and the like in the garb of a robust education.
The book isn't exactly an easy read, but it does make for a lot of great arguments that our education system and life system, in general, doesn't address. These things and questions are going to get increasingly complicated with the passage of time as technology pervades our lives and education modes more and more, so I believe it is a very pertinent book.
