This book was okay and any plot with magic tends to captivate me, however I am not a fan of repeated tropes and look for something new. There's a classic love triangle and a heroine who doesn't care about feminine things, to name a few. It was also a strange mishap of things that didn't entirely flow together. She was in such danger but had time to go to parties and flirt. However, I did enjoy the friendships - I think it just needed more action, and a little less focus on world building.

DNF unfortunately. I tried for a long time but just nope. Nothing to really sink my teeth into.
