Faster, Higher, Smarter by Simon Shapiro is fantastic book detailing sports achievements and the athletes behind them and also the science that made it all possible. This is a great practical application of physics, and its exciting to see how much room for innovation there is, even in events that have been around for hundreds of years. Also nice to note that the book features male and female athletes along with athletes with disabilities.
