A good continuation of the Bring Down Heaven series. Contains all of the things that have come to characterize Sykes's novels: an obvious love for the genre, colourful (often irreverent) characters, and a well-built world. Sometimes the writing gets a bit bogged down - in detail, or an over-long scene - but his novels are always entertaining. (I still laugh about a scene in Black Halo, all these years later.)
