Corzine immediately debunks any glimmer of the fantasy that there was ever a "pure" time in baseball--some of the most beloved stories, when seen in the light of day, laud a variety of legal and illegal, mind and body altering substances. Because of this, the book is an interesting study of the evolution of what we deem unacceptable behavior and ban-able substances.

Good perspective that gives you in the in's and out's of all the drug use in MLB. This was more than just a book about steroids. It dives into the use of cocaine decades ago, along with alcohol and muscle relaxers. Overall, a good read.
