I was so excited about this book. It grabbed my attention in the first few lines and I was ready for a psychological thriller that would have me on the edge of my seat. However, what I got was an unreliable narrator that was so full of himself it was disgusting. He did so much information overload about psychology and his unsurpassed intelligence that it was, honestly boring. I felt like I was in the middle of reading a really good book and suddenly my Psychology 101 book was dropped in my lap instead. The flow of the novel was broken up by all this egotistical and non relevant information that I just got bored with it and lost interest in the part of the story that had at first gripped me. I wanted to find one character that I really felt a connection to, but there was none. No one that I cared enough about to even look forward to hearing about them. Very disappointing read.

Jenny Kramer's rape is vicious and calculated, but her parents make the decision to give her a drug to help her forget everything that happened. But when Jenny attempts suicude, everyone knows now they made the wrong choice, Jenny works with Alan, a psychologist, to help her bring back her memories of the night of the rape so that she can move forward.

This book is not for those with weak stomachs. I admit, I was not prepared fir the violent events played out in such detail. Despite all of that, I was drawn in immediately be the narrator. I couldn't tell until the very end--that had a twist I didn't see coming--what kind of man he really was.

All is Not Forgotten is the most "psychological" of psychological thrillers I've read since Rena Olsen's "The Girl Before." Both clinical and heartfelt, this book lives in the gray areas of trauma recovery, and human nature that not many dare to venture into. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author!

Ok....first thing's first, I only made it to Chapter 6 because of the graphic sexual RAPE that was splashed all over the first 5 chapters. I though maybe it would be interesting because of the memory part, but I just couldn't stomach it anymore. I have 2 daughters and I don't like hearing about that kind of stuff...then the mothers secret? Yep, I was done! Sorry, but I've read horrible gory horror books that never turned my stomach like this book did in 5 chapters!!!!! Not recommended!!
