Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
This was a really sweet read. Watching pediatrician Josh and hospital finance guru Delaney meet, squabble, and eventually grow cross while figuring out how to handle this year's budget was a lot of fun. Neither of them is looking for a relationship and each thinks that the other is being unreasonable. After spending time together, though, it isn't long before they realize that they're not as different as they thought and sparks start to fly.
Heart Like Mine is the type of read we've come to expect from McGinnis, it's sweet and heartfelt and keeps you engaged from page one. I found myself rooting for Josh and Delaney and being annoyed that the economy was down so they had to cut funding. But that's the kind of storyteller that McGinnis is. You're wrapped up the entire time. It was also refreshing to read something on the cleaner side. I don't mind heat, but it was refreshing to read a story where the intimacy was left to our imagination.
Another great read.
Have not read this book as I did not get time to read it yet. Will update the review after I have gotten a chance to read it.
I liked this followup to the first book in the Echo Lake Series. Delaney Blair has been given the difficult task of cutting budgets in the hospital where she works. When she has to trim the financials of the pediatrics department, she comes up again the head of the department, Dr. Joshua Mackenzie. As the two try to work together, they develop an intense attraction, as well as deeper feelings. They have to find a way to keep the pediatrics department going, while figuring out how to handle the feelings between them.
Good story, likable characters, and an interesting setting made this one very enjoyable to read!
I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!
Beautiful and a slow romance. It was nice to watch their relationship development. Enjoyable read.
Thank you so much for being willing to grant me access to this book. Unfortunately, life obligations have prevented me from doing so. If my schedule clears, I plan on reviewing this in the future and will post the review on Amazon and Goodreads. Thank you.
