Michelle Madow doesn't disappoint! This was super fast paced, well written, and fun! I really enjoyed how she took the lore and made it her own!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to go through with this. I might come back someday.

I would like to thank the publisher and netgalley for providing me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

3/5 stars!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Barclay Publicity for sending me an E-ARC of this book for an honest review!

I was super excited to read this book because I have really enjoyed reading Michelle Madow's books in the past. This book sounded amazing... I mean, who doesn’t love Greek mythology and magic? I know I do!

This book, however, did not meet my high expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was good... it just wasn't great. To me, the story was super rushed (especially the beginning) and I really didn't like the romance. I thought the romance was super unhealthy, and I did not find myself liking the main love interest at all.

I did really love the idea and the world building in this book. I thought that the idea of mixing witchcraft/paranormal romance with Greek mythology was super cool. I also really loved all of the Greek mythology bits that were in the book. The ending was good, and I probably will end up reading the sequel. I really want to find out what happens next.

Thanks for reading!
Caden

This book reminded me a lot of Percy Jackson and Harry Potter only not as well developed. The premise of the story was fine. Witches mixed with Greek Gods was an interesting twist. The problem I had was the book read more for a middle grade than ya. There were a bunch of cliches not only with the characters but also the plot. I was hoping for a new and exciting twist but it never came. Perhaps the next book will be more developed.

This book wasn't at all what I expected. I'm not typically a "witch" story enthusiast, but this author did a fabulous job melding the witch element into Greek and Egyptian mythology, which you know I love. I've never seen this done in a book before, so I was pleasantly surprised, intrigued and sucked right into this unusual story.

I loved all of the characters from the start. Some of them came across, at first, in a stereotypical way, but it didn't take long for me to see past that, as each character grew and changed. With what the comet does to them, and how it draws them together as a group, characters changed with the circumstances, became stronger, and more individual.

And my favorite part of the story? A quest. I love a good quest, and the fact that the author placed these characters on a journey of clues and research was a great addition to the story that really pulled me into their world and had me in suspense with each new discovery.

The writing was very fast-paced, the story very interesting, and the romance sweet a little hot. The book had all the elements (not pun intended) to really keep me interested and keep me reading. When I reached the final page, I was left wanting more, which is the mark of a success to me. I'm definitely on board to read the next book. A good read!

Easily the best of madow's books. I'm hoping this series lasts a long time and more people get exposed to it. I found myself wanting to be a part of the world with these characters
