Going through my netgalley account and just found the section of books titled Archived, not downloaded. I apparently requested and was approved for this book but I never DLd it and so did not read it. I appreciate the approval and while still interested in the title I am not sure when I will get to read it. If/when I do I will be sure to post a review on Instagram, goodreads, storygraph, and Amazon.

I really loved Lily and Robyn's story!

Robyn and Lily are found in a compromising situation when Robyn mistakes her for his last paramour. Promising to make things right, Robyn will start escorting Lily to events, but then doesn't show up... Lily then goes to a friend of Robyn's so that she has an escort. Robyn soon realizes that he doesn't like the idea of Lily being escorted around by anyone but himself.

Of course, Robyn ends up not helping Lily repair her reputation as they get into one scrap after another. I loved the bantering between these two and watching them fall in love!

This takes the trope of ruination in a slightly different direction, and as a result it feels refreshing to read for veteran readers of historical and Regency romance. The characters were likeable but, due to their strong humanizing, not entirely lovable, which is not a bad thing. There are the requisite strong descriptions of places and clothes that add to the scenery as you read. It is a series I feel comfortable recommending to readers new to the author or genre.
