This is the second book in The Guardians Trilogy. Annika and Sawyers story drags on forever. It seemed the characters were lacking that buzz of new romance. I just didn’t enjoy this as much as I expected to.

I had not read a Nora Roberts book in a while before I read the first book in The Guardians Trilogy. When I finished the first book I knew that I had to read the second book. This is an amazing trilogy. The story flows perfectly from one book to the next. The characters are familiar and the quest is known. Now I need to get ready for the third one.

In this book we pick up after they have found the first star. They are now searching for the star of water. The 6 main characters know that they will have to use their own personal special talents to keep each other safe and find the star. I cannot pick a favorite character but in this book it seemed that Annika and Sawyer were front and center throughout the entire story. I felt invested in their safety and in their relationship. I loved how naïve and unknowing Annika is. Her understanding of all things human is so small that everything has to be explained to her. The use of language, the use of human items, and the love between humans is all so new to her it was like discovering the world again through new eyes.

In true Nora Roberts fashion, I could not put the book down. I turned page and after page, reading paragraph after paragraph. I had to know what was going to happen.

As with many of her series this one does need to be read in order. The need to understand the history and the characters is necessary.

Anything by Nora Roberts is great. Bay of Sighs is exciting and romantic. Loved it!

I used to really enjoy these trilogies, and have recently started to lose interest. This one kept my attention with a different location.
