As you open the first pages of this book your about to see how the unconditional love of a dog is about to change many lives, some for the good, and others, well may they get what they deserve?

You will cry when you read this book. I do not care how big and burly you are, how tough your exterior self projects to the world, this book reaches inside of you and mushes around all your emotions.
Mainly because of one geriatric, belly dragging dog with Great Dane size personality.
The humans start off being closed off with their emotions, but Tippy makes her own wishes and needs known, while bringing together people who seem to need each other. She seems to have some miracle worker properties about her.
This is a story about second chances and redemption and, yes, baseball.
This is a book I will recommend to friends and book clubs and those who need to believe again.

I’m really not much of a romance reader but I love animals, so I’m glad I picked up this book from Netgalley. It was really good with a storyline that flowed nicely and very easy to read. There were many issues that both the main characters had to deal, such as forgiveness, moving on from the past, etc. I loved the dog and all her quirks…having to have Cal sit on the floor so she would eat, etc. The storyline was somewhat predictable, but not too boring so that I was struggling through the book.
Rating: 4 out of 5
I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for a review

Sit, Stay, Love by Dana Mentik is a cute romance that involves a man and a woman and with a little help from a dog. Pro baseball pitcher Cal Crawford inherits his mother’s dog, Tippy when she passes away and he is definitely not a dog guy. So he hires Gina to take care of Tippy. Along the way Gina befriends Tippy and Cal and a love triangle ensues. This story is filled with ups and downs and laughs. With great characters and a cute romance, I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy contemporary romance with the addition of an adorable and loving dog.

Cal Crawford is a successful and well-known professional baseball player; he’s a rough-around-the-edges type of guy with a past, and who doesn’t let people into his life easily. When his mother passes way, he inherits her elderly dog named Tippy. Cal is definitely not a dog person, but he just can’t seem to let go of the little dog, holding on to her as a last connection to his mother. Because of his career and his lack of patience, he hires a dog sitter to help him care for Tippy.
Gina is the exactly opposite of Cal in every way: She is warm, friendly, aspiring teacher who knows nothing about sports, and is absolutely a dog lover. When Gina is hired by Cal to care for Tippy, their relationship starts as just a mere tolerance for one another. Later, as they bond over sweet Tippy, their relationship blooms into a sweet romance. They both help bring out the best in the other, with Cal providing Gina stability and comfort, and Gina helping Cal to open up and experience the blessings that God provides.
This isn’t a book that I normally would have picked out for myself, but I was drawn in by the sweet dog on the cover. If you are looking for a breezy story with a lot of heart and clean romance, you should give this one a try! There are some minor issues with the plot, and it took me a while to warm up to this quirky story, but it was an enjoyable read. Overall, this is a fun and sweet Christian romance novel. This would make a quick beach read for the summer, and yes…it is a perfect story for any dog lover!
