A fun and witty novel to enjoy. I'm not used to Georgina Era novels but definitely enjoyed this bit of wicked fun!

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

While it was slightly predictable it was incredibly sweet, funny and perfectly romantic. I loved Hannah and Gavan together. For me Gavan stole the show with his humor and crazy antics but Hannah was 100% a fighter and she refused to just lay back and let people get away with anything that she didn't want a part in.

Overall I loved it, great job Kimberly Bell!

A Convenient Engagement is a bit different in a very enjoyable way. It is the story of a naughty rogue turned protective fiancé to a witty, independent, young lady. Gavan Dalreoch is laird to his clan, but refuses to act the laird not having been home for sixteen years preferring to live in London. Hannah Howard becomes his fiancée shortly into the story through a hilarious disagreement and mishap. It is an engagement meant to be temporary until she Hannah meets someone else. What Hannah does not tell Gavan is she plans to never marry and just agrees so she will stop being snubbed by the ton.

Gavan immediately sets about helping her to meet other men by helping to make her acceptable to the ton.
His cousin, Ewan, threatens him to give Hannah back her reputation through marriage. Neither of them share with Ewan it is temporary arrangement. From the very beginning, Gavan cannot keep his hands off of Hannah. So, he brings in a companion, a chaperone and a friend of his who will sponsor her entry into society. None of them seem to be able to prevent him from finding time alone with Hannah.

Hannah is quite independent and wants to stay that way. She saw how losing her mother affected her father and affected the way he treated her. What her father did was to amass a fortune he left to Hannah upon his death allowing her the financial independence to be her own person and make her own decisions. Hannah left the little community due to a man there who kept asking her to marry him.

During the fake engagement someone tries to kidnap Hannah on two occasions. Gavan decides the only way he can protect this woman he care for is to take her and her entourage to his home in Scotland. The one he has not been to in numerous years.

You will love this charming, sensual tale of two friends with benefits, but not intercourse. It is well-written and thoroughly worth your time to read. Hannah’s stubbornness to be independent almost ruins her HEA, but she finally gets there. Not sure I appreciate the beginning of the story with two actresses being in Gavan’s bed, leaving his home naked, but it does add to the comedic part of the story. I kind of like heroes to have a better compass when it comes to their moral ethics. He does get there. Thank you Net Galley for sharing this enjoyable book in exchange for an honest review.
