Kate Moore is a billionaire's daughter, going out on her own to prove to her father that she can. She is restoring a run down hotel and spending almost every waking minute working to ensure the job is not only done well, but fast.
She doesn't need a distraction, but she needs a landscaper, and David is the perfect fit. Kate finds him handsome, finds herself drawn to him, and he is proving to be more of a distraction than he is worth.
David is a hard worker, giving up his dreams to pay his father's medical bills. He needs the Moore job but he doesn't expect his boss to be so beautiful. He doesn't need her distracting him either.
Both David and Kate try to fight the attraction - they have too much at stake to throw it away on a work romance, but the sparks are flying and fighting the attraction is harder than either thought it would be.
I really enjoyed Take Me As I Am. Kate had built a lot of walls around herself and it was fun watching them start to come down. She was a powerful business woman, and a great sister, but she had no backbone when it came to her father and a misguided sense of loyalty to him. I loved how her character grew and changed, and loved watching her come into her true self.
David was always thinking of others, of his family, and had no time to consider his own needs, and I enjoyed watching him let go and start to think about himself.
Both were wonderful characters and I enjoyed reading the sizzling chemistry between them.
Take Me As I Am was a romance you can easily get swept away in. It is quite a steamy romance, so if you like your scenes detailed you will be satisfied. A solid four star read. I highly recommend it.
I just found this on my shelf as not having left feedback. I am so sorry, but we did not review this book as it is m/f romance and we are an LGBTQ romance site. I am not sure why I requested it but it must have been in error.
