This is the first YA book I’ve read in a while (since early February!), and coming back to it reminds me of how much I love the genre. It’s actually my preferred genre for many reasons, mostly because it can stretch so easily into other genres. This had Romance, and Fantasy, as well as being YA, so it made for triple the intrigue as I went in.
Additionally, I came in after bailing on one book, and off a Nora Roberts binge, so I wanted something different, fun, and interesting, that kept my attention and kept me wanting to keep reading.

I think, in life, everyone has those moments they either wish they could change, or wish that someone that was causing you pain didn’t exist. This book answers the question of “what if” in those scenarios, and, as with all books, there is a moral to the story. “Be Careful What You Wish For.”

I liked this book. Emphasis on like. In the end, it ended up being just a little cheesy, and not really what I expected as the story went on. Although it did follow the story line, and all of the characters maintained who they were throughout the story, I think maybe I just came away wanting more from it.
And, like I said, it was really cheesy towards the end. Like, the reveal, how it all turned out… I don’t know. Maybe it was a little too young of a YA for me, after all.
It was a nice break from what I have been reading, though, and a nice reminder that YA really has a special place in my heart.

I wasn't totally crazy about the cover, but that didn't stop me from reading The Fountain. I think it read a bit younger than I anticipated but was a good, entertaining story.
