Even though this was the ninth book in this series, I had no trouble following the story. Jenna and her family are going on a cruise, that is until half of them come down with the chicken pox. They already have the tickets, so her father invites Jenna's best friends (Peace, Love and Cupcake crew) as long as they make 12,000 cupcakes for the pirate extravaganza. The girls say yes, who wouldn't want to go on a cruise with your best friends. Can they make that many cupcakes in time?

This seems like a great series for girls in late primary or early junior grades. This would also be a great series for parents and the children to read together. The message of believing in yourself and your abilities is a good one. These are feel good stories that have happy endings. The characters are well written and you can see their personalities shine through. A cute story for a school, class or family library.
