I love songs by Elvis so I thought I would like this book. It is told in a present day, past day, present day fashion so it was a bit hard for me to follow who was telling the story.

Cory Ainsworth is a blues musician and according to the story gets it honestly. She wonders if her father was not Bradley Ainsworth but Elvis. Her mother left the small southern town for a year and when she came home again was pregnant. She had been a backup singer for Elvis.

Cory finds a Stutz Blackhawk that was the type of car Elvis drove. It has been preserved since the time of Cory’s birth. Now all sorts of questions pop up. Is Elvis really her father? How did the Blackhawk come to be in the shed?

Cory decides to retrace her mother’s drive from Memphis 37 years ago and find out the answers. If you can follow present/past/present story telling and like Elvis nostalgia, then grab a copy of this book.
