Creativia and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of The Wind Guardian. This is my honest opinion of the book.
Cameron Taylor is stuck in an 8 hours a day job as a night security guard at a nuclear power plant. Constantly late for work and always on the verge of being fired, the only bright spots in his nights are the time he spends with his fellow coworker, Grace. One night, late this time because his carpool friend did not answer his door, Cameron ends up shirking his responsibilities to hang out with Grace. Of course, this is when all hell breaks loose...
I do like how the author describes the inner workings of a nuclear power plant, as I had no prior knowledge. However, there are almost too many details, as the author spends so much time educating that the story starts to get lost. Also, so much of what happens here is highly implausible, as the checks and balances of a place like a nuclear power plant would not allow all that occurs to happen. It did make for an interesting story, but the book just did not grab my attention. The character development was slow and incomplete, leaving me with the feeling that something was missing. If the author had focused in on one or two points of view, the story may have been more compelling. The Wind Guardian was a miss for me, but readers who like thrillers may enjoy this story.
