NA is my soft spot. Thus almost all NA manages to get my seal of approval. This was no exception and managed to catch my interest too. Good decent romance is my weak point.
Ruined is the fourth book in Shiloh Walker's contemporary Barnes Brothers series.
An enjoyable friends-to-lovers romance.
I suggest reading the previous books in the series before picking this one up so you can get the full effect for the back story,

I love a sports romance and Scored did not disappoint. Chemistry between Matt and Kelsey, undeniable. Although Kelsey has had some God awful past relationships. Matt is a star baseball player, and his contract is coming up for renewal. What's even funnier is that Kelsey has not idea nor interest in baseball.
You don't have to read Bossed to read Scored. Although I will admitted, I enjoyed Bossed a lot more. Sloane is fast becoming a good rom/com author besides his other genres.

Sebastien is a good man but his life of being a playboy stops him from getting what he truly wants. He has always loved Marin but she does not think he is the settling down kind of man. When tragedy strikes in Sebastien's life he pushes away everyone but Marin. He cannot afford to lose her friendship too. With Marin's help Sebastien may be able to rejoin the world but is that enough?
Sebastien and Marin's story is a good read. Emotions rule this book. There are highs and lows that their relationship goes through. I enjoyed watching their friendship deepen into something more. One night of passion changes everything for these two and it was nice to see their fight for what was truly in their hearts.
A short but an enjoyable read in the series. Sebastian Barnes has always been the golden boy of the Barnes family. Seb is a respected actor in Hollywood who is missing one thing, a relationship with Marin Lassister. Sebastian has had a crush on Marin, an old family friend, since he was child. When he decides to make a move, Marin turns him down flat, explaining that she is looking for a serious relationship and that Seb has not shown he is willing to work for a stable commitment. This is when the book takes a turn - Seb had been in relationship with a women in his early 20's. Her current abusive husband comes after Seb after she ends it, and viciously attack both her and Sebastian. She dies and Sebastian has to learn how to live with survivors guilt and a disfiguring scar.
This plot turn seemingly comes out of nowhere and changes the tone of the book from light and fluffy to tale of guilt and redemption, which Walker does handle well. Marin, who does care Sebastian despite turning him down earlier, coaxes and bullies him out of his depression and into working again.
Marin is an interesting character but the book lives and dies with the portrayal of Sebastian and Walker once again does a good job in going deep into his insecurities and motivations. I did like this story and will probably read it again but there were some plots twists, the attack and an out of nowhere baby that pulled me out of the story and cause me to lower the grade.
I've read the others in the series but this title really works as a standalone. I would recommend it for a rainy day when you are looking for something to read.
