I love this attempt to modernize Emma with a swap out of the main character, but it ultimately fell flat.
A campus novel, told from the perspective of a student who runs an advice column at her Midwestern university's student newspaper.
The novel is an easy read, but doesn't really pack much of a punch. It's a gentle read, which many will find a nice change of pace (I did, after a lot of crime thrillers).
An interesting, if not essential read. I'd be interested in reading something else by the author.
The idea of this story was something that I was super interested in going into the story, however, it just kind of fell flat for me in terms of execution. I didn't mind the main character but the story just seemed to drag on and I was having a hard time staying in it. I didn't want to DNF this one though so I pushed through. I probably won't be reading anything else by this author.
