This is the first book I've read of this authors...& I did receive a free copy in advance from Netgallery to review. So these opinions are totally mine with no bias!

Two siblings are separated during WW I and have just recently discovered they are related. So you have the sibling attempting to acquaint each other with themselves and their families. While doing this they are working on a garden and stumble upon a Skelton next to a fighter plane. As they attempt to solve who the body belongs to their are many twists as it appears someone or many, don't want the body identified.

I think I would have gotten more from this story if I had read the rest of the series. Also this isn't my usual genre, so that may have been part of the reason I couldn't get into this story. It was well written though. So while this just didn't hold my attention. If you are into gardening and cozy mysteries (that are very predictable) this story may be for you.

As the 4th book in the series, it was delightful story with a mystery to solve both in current time and from World War II. I loved the intermixing of the war history on the citizens in England because it's was different from what was in the US. It was one of the better mysteries in the series because it really kept you guessing until the end.

So here we go again with another Marty Wingate cozy mystery! Pru And hubby Christopher Pearce are at Greenoak while its owners are abroad. Pru is restoring the extensive grounds with her long lost brother Simon, the estate's head gardener. Sibling rivalry at its finest, ladies and gents.

While digging up a tree, they find the wreckage of a German war plane and a skeleton. A murder from the past, sparks a murder in the present and Pru is once again in the middle of a homicide inquiry. .

I've read the three previous books in this entertaining and well written series and enjoyed them all, including this. I like The characters and I find the gardening aspect is new and intriguing. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys mysteries with interesting backgrounds. The books in this series can be read as standalone novels, which is also quite lovely.

This was a cute read and perfect for winter. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend for those who like cozy mysteries or those set in English gardens. I have not read the author before, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so again. This was well-written.

Quite a good story, although it seems to be written for an American audience, so that is a little grating. I did like the research, and bringing in the younger characters was good.

I found this book to be slow, confusing, but definitely a mystery.

I found the story to be incredibly slow. We were given a lot of information that I am not sure was warranted or necessary. I would say the first half of the book was just following the ins and outs of Pru’s day. Not quite sure I can say it linked in with the mystery part of the story.

I think the extensive detail and information that was provided lent to a lot of my confusion, but I was also confused with timelines. I am not 100% sure what the time period was of the book. At times, I felt it was present time and then times felt it was past time and I had an incredibly difficult time keeping it straight.

Aside from those two things, the mystery itself was good. Definitely one that has the wheels spinning and you don’t figure out until the book does (which I love in a mystery story.)

There were a lot of “suspects” in the mystery and it was fun to narrow it down. I have to admit, I was quite surprised at who the actual criminal was, and enjoyed reading the mystery part of the book.

If you can get past the slowness in the beginning, it really is a great mystery read!

4th book in a series. Can be read alone - but definitely better to read in order. Well written story about an American who moved to England and likes to garden and mysteries find her along the way.

This is a very enjoyable light mystery. A great book to take you away for a few hours and relax with a cup of tea.

The characters are nicely developed and the story moves along nicely.

I really enjoyed this little cozy. It was set in modern day, but had a touch of history involved that most people had forgotten. The story was entertaining and fun to read and the characters were very endearing. I would definitely recommend this book.

I should have read the other books in the series before reading this. It is readable as a standalone, but I would have been more familiar with the characters.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!

My apologies for the delay in the review.
It would have been much better if I started the series from the beginning. I feel like I missed a lot of key info. With that said, the writing was unique and interesting. The characters were interesting as well.

Apologies to the publisher, life got in the way and completely forgot about reviewing the book. It was a quirky and enjoyable journey. I love a good mystery and the garden sounds spectacular. Had a lot of fun reading!

I was given a free copy of this from Random House and NetGalley as part of the Random House Monthly Mystery Chatterbox in return for my honest review.
This was the first book in this series that I have read. I do think I missed a lot, not knowing any of the back stories of the characters. There were a lot of mentions to things that occurred in the past that I was not aware of, not having read the other three books. That being said, it still was an enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I definitely did not have it figured out before the main characters. Having family from Texas and having lived in England myself for a few years, I definitely could relate to Pru and her sometimes confusion in the customs of the village. The characters in this book were great, I loved the neighbor lady with the ducks! It was also an interesting plot with mysteries both in the present and the past. Although I think I would have gotten more out of it if I read all the books in the series, it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to a friend!

I really should have started this series from the start. There is a lot of background and a lot of development going on in the book. It's also a good thing that I like gardening. As I stuck with the plot - story and garden, things really shaped up. I was able to follow along and enjoy the story overall.

First off, the cover is beautiful! I liked the book, but I was hoping to love it. It was just okay for me and I'm not sure why. It's the 4th in the series, and I usually prefer reading in sequence, so that may be the reason. Also, it was a little different from the other mysteries I've recently read. It was a little bit of slow start, but I stuck with it and I enjoyed it. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. I love mystery books and finding new authors, so I still may give the other books in the series a try!

Thanks to Chatterbox and Random House for this opportunity!
