When a neighborly encounter results in a "fake" engagement the two love birds will soon discover that the charade isn't so difficult to fake.
An artist looking for a break and a paramedic with a tragic past will discover that building a future together could be the best thing they create. They need to take a risk and the journey is full of chemistry, adventure and a lot of emotions. A great read.
Sexy, emotionally engaging, funny. Neighbors, a fake engagement and Thanksgiving dinner- what could go wrong?
They take you on a great ride on their transition from horrified almost strangers to friend to lovers. Lovely, loving people who learn to love and live a little more.
Beau Montgomery goes over to his next door neighbor, Savanna Smith's, place on Thanksgiving day to ask her to lower the music before his family arrives for the holiday dinner. But a shocking mishap has them telling their shocked family that they are engaged. Both have their reasons for the deception and both have a reason to not want to fall in love... but they do.
It's just that Savannah's supposed to leave for a fellowship in Europe at the end of the year and Beau has emotional history that's kept him from moving forward. So when a surprise develops from their situation, they must dig down deep and find out what they really want and what means the most to them.
It was a sweet story. It started out with some meet-cute/funny moments, but soon became more stayed. It just leveled out to be a typical romance.
I am interested to read the next book about Beau's partner, Hunter.
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Okay, Beck. You got me. I got choked up on the subway, which, while I'm an emotional person, doesn't happen as often as you'd think. Beau and Savannah are victims of fate. Living next door to one another, Savannah's artistic (read: loud) nature has started to creep into Beau's carefully stabilized existence. He goes over one day to ask her to quiet down and a second later, due to a severe miscommunication, they're engaged and trying to keep up pretenses for their families...who just happen to go way back.
Slowly but surely, Savannah worms her color into Beau's bland existence and what starts as an engagement with an expiration date quickly becomes something more. But is Beau willing to put himself out there again after the tragedies of his past? The answer to that (and a few tears if you're anything like me), lies in the end of this book.
Just enough heat and a whole lotta heart.
