The Mortal Machine series started off really well, but I felt like each book took a downturn. I had a hard time believing in the characters and their actions, and the constant internal dialog was hard to follow. I had to DNF this one.
Forever Dusk is the final book in the Mortal Machine trilogy, and it was the hardest one for me to read. After books 1 & 2, I was so emotionally invested in Asher and Addison that I was just hoping that they could find some of HEA.
Don't continue reading the review if you haven't read book 2!!
We start with Addison just trying to hold on to her sanity after taking the evil inside of her. This was one of the hardest parts for me. The delusions, and overall insanity that she was going through. As hard as Asher tries to keep all the pieces of her mind together, it's just not working. She's lost credibility among her peers, as well as Asher.
When those around her are threatened she realizes she must fight this battle on her own. How do you take something so serious on, when you can barely maintain your own sanity?
I stayed up all night reading this one! Every time I tried to put it down I couldn't sleep without knowing how it would end. I love this series!
