This is a story of family, loss, love, friendship, and secrets. It is a rich novel of character and I loved the story.
Many thanks to Lake Union Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
The family drama between those living and dead is something that resonates with many of us. The estrangement, the funeral dramas and traumas, and the sibling rivalries are all things that I could relate to, and were very realistically and interestingly drawn by King in this novel. I highly recommend this book.
What a wonderful read. The author has written a novel with strong character development and plot line that engage the reader from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the end. A moving novel that will not disappoint any reader. Highly recommended

A wonderful vacation read! From its cheery cover to its engaging story, this one is one to pack along with you. My favorite part was that it is a premise that I had not seen in a book before - a difficult feat among a sea of similar offerings, and a breath of fresh air. The characters were well-developed and the resolution was ideal. I look forward to reading more by this author!
Unable to concentrate on the storyline and got very confused.
It was interesting but the finding herself isn't really my cup of tea but that's just me.

Oh my, is all I can say. This book is one of those that you fall in love with from the very beginning. I couldn't put it down most nights. I am just thankful that I wasn't scheduled to work during the time it took for me to finish this. It has this high school love feel to it that pulled me in. I am unfortunately a dweller of the past and the relationship between Annelise and Dale really struck a cord with me. My heart broke for Ariel in her twist and turn adventure to learn the truth. I also realized that my opinion of Dale changed slightly once I figured his secret. I felt the betrayal before Lise did and it broke my heart. I wish I could feel that the ending was happier than it appears for me. Thank you for giving me "all the feels" with this book. It was wonderfully written and I pictured myself in the position of everyone during the entire read. Part of me wishes it was part of a series, I hated to say good-bye to these characters. Hint hint!
This book is a book about loss, regret and love. I have to say that this book gave me a lot of mixed feelings (in a good way if that makes sense!) Lise is a small town music teacher who is dragged into the spotlight after the death of her singer sister. Lise has not spoken to her sister in years and is now left raising her 16 year old daughter. The paparazzi also decide that Lise is their new favorite topic. This book is so very well written and I hope to see more books by this author.
