Another good mystery for Gideon Oliver. This one was just a bit disjointed and not everything was solved but still a satisfying ending to a satisfying game mystery.
This is the first book I have read in the series and I feel it could be a standalone novel. The setting is very atmospheric and I felt as if I was right there with Gideon. I enjoyed following along on his investigation of the cold case, and loved the historical aspect.
Many thanks to Thomas & Mercer and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Perhaps I should have read the previous books in this series. (Yes, I am embarrassed to say as much as I love mysteries I haven't read anything by Elkins.) Lots of food, Lots of meals. Based on this book, I probably won't search out other books by Elkins, although friends tell me not to judge an author by one book.
