I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

I went into Twisted by Hannah Jayne with high expectations. I've been reading a lot of books about serial killers lately (that sounds so weird... I swear, I'm normal), so I was super intrigued by a book about the daughter of serial killer who the police want to use a bait in order to catch her father who disappeared after being questioned. WOW. How is that going to work? And seriously, how realistic of an idea even is that? But I was intrigued. Unfortunately, this book was more about teen drama than an actual mystery. Twisted never really went to the creepy and exciting places it could have gone. I wanted so much more from it: more depth and intrigue, and less focus on the insta-love. And, truth be told, I didn't like Bex. I needed her to be strong and willing to fight against what others thought of her. Instead, she was a puddle that just bugged me.

I swapped my kindle back in 2018 and am unable to recover this title. I appriciate the opportunity that was given for review but sadly can't complete it for this title. Based on the previous book I've read by Hannah Kayne I am giving this 3 Stars.
Many thanks.

Great book with lots of twists and turns. Will definitely suggest this to our youth customers. A series would be awesome with this so hoping the author comes out with more.

Solid YA mystery romp! This wasn't the most unique or unpredictable read, but it was enjoyable and fun. I liked Bex a lot, and there were definitely moments that I questioned most everyone in the book - I would have liked to see the action balance out a little better across the whole book.

This book was edge-of-your-seat the entire way through. The premise was amazing and it definitely delivered. I've handsold this book to many customers and they also came back with great reviews! For fans of The Cabin and We Were Liars, this would be a great choice.

I thought that I would like this book but I wasn't able to get into this book at this time. Sadly this book did not finish the book.

Unfortunately, my hopes were pretty high for a book about the daughter of a serial killer being stalked as she tries to start her life over. The concept sounded like so much fun, but this YA novel does what so many YA novels do - go over the top with emotional dramatics and favour the cheesy aspects of the story line over the darker, more thrilling potential it has.

There's not a lot of depth to the story. It's a very fast read, but it could have been longer if more care taken with character development and plot points. Overall it feels less like a "page-turner" and more like the author was in a rush to get it over with.

Sorry, can anyone name a child of a serial killer? Or even more, a child of a serial killer who was hounded by the media, and the general public wanted to see hanged? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Didn't think so.

I found this aspect of the storyline to be unnecessary. Bex could have deep issues with her true identity, and the allegations against her father, without dialing up the ridiculousness to eleven.

She spends the majority of the book vomiting, hallucinating, having panic attacks, running away from people, crying and just generally being so weird it's honestly amazing to me that she managed to get poor, sweet Trevor to fall in love with her.

No one wants to a read a story about a girl with a serial killer for a father, only for that girl to be a "quivering heap." She needed to be a badass or a psycho. Enough snot crying.
The whole book seemed to be building up to some kind of twist, but in the end everything was exactly what you thought it was going to be. So the title is a little bit misleading.

I might be 31, but I love to binge-watch some PLL. A good YA thriller is just as interesting as an adult fiction thriller. But this was just too dramatic with a stupid lead. Not my thing.

Got a netgalley copy of this book and loved it.
I found this an enjoyable gripping take on the serial killer theme. Bex was a well rounded character and I enjoyed this book.

When Beth was seven, her father was accused of murder and became known as "the Wife Collector" as he murdered potential mothers for his daughter and then cut off their ring fingers. Before he could be found guilty of the crimes, he escaped and went into hiding. Beth's dad had always claimed that he was innocent and had been set up by someone with the means and opportunity. Years later Beth is now a teenager and has finally found a great home in Kill Devil Hills. She has also scrubbed her past clean and changed her name to Bec Andrews. No longer will she be associated with her dad's crimes, she can start fresh with her new foster family who loves and cares for her. Things start to settle well until tragedy strikes, and a girl is found murdered. Strange things start occurring, and Bec wonders if her dad has resurfaced especially when clues and items from her past start to show up around town. When detectives from Bec's past show up, will she help them lure her father out or does she want the past to stay in the past? I enjoyed this read as I love serial killer type novels especially when it involves family members and the repercussions. The one part that I had hoped for in Twisted was that they had gone deeper into finding out the truth about what happened to Bec's mother as she had minor flashbacks but it was left open-ended to whether she had been murdered by her husband - Bec's father or not. If you love your mysteries and thrillers, then check out Twisted by Hannah Jayne as you will not be disappointed. I also have to admit I did smile when I read the town this book was based in - Kill Devil Hills as I have read a series prior with the same name which surrounded the small beach town.

Once upon a time, Bex was Beth Anne. And Beth Anne is the daughter of notorious serial killer the Wife Collector. In a new town with a new name and new parents, Bex is determined to start over and enjoy life. When a girl turns up murdered, and her necklace winds up being gifted to Bex from an admirer, she begins to fear that her father is after her again.

Then there’s a detective, who knows who Bex really is, and who her help to catch her father once and for all.

Lots of twists in this one.

Not only was Twisted by Hannah Jayne an exciting and fun thriller, but the characters in the book really felt like they were breathing and living characters. I couldn't wrap my mind around how well this book was written, and it definitely had that "edge of your seat" excitement going on throughout the entire story!
