The story could have been better had we gotten less sex scenes and more answers. I wanted to learn more about Hayden and his relationship with his father. I also wanted Janet to grow a spine and stop being so whiney. I did like the realism in her abusive relationship but wished we'd seen her go back to therapy. The same went for Hayden.

This is the second book in the Raeven Sisters series and also my second book by the author. I thought I was going to enjoy this book as I was intrigued by the baby sister, Janet. But as I read, I found that the main character, Hayden Lancaster, who was Janet's love interest was just awful. I can understand having old girlfriends from the past make an appearance but not when every other female in the book was one of Hayden's exes. Although most were not even his girlfriend but just weekend lovers. Yet he keep them around him. He employed them at his office. I just could not get into his story of falling in love and wanting to be with Janet.
I liked the synopsis but it didn't live up to expectations. I didn't think much of the writing style. This is Book 2 in the series and I didn't read the first book but I think the author wrote this one expecting that readers would have read the first book therefore, a lot of it was confusing as some things aren't explained properly and neither the hero or the heroine are fleshed out enough.I became bored early on. The story doesn't flow well and is quite meaningless. I didn't particularly like Janet or Hayden but they deserved each other!
I was so looking forward to this story about Janet! She was hilarious in the first book. But I quickly realized that I wasn't going to like her in this book. In this book, Janet Raeven acts more like a little whiner than a full grown woman. I get it, her previous issues highlighted in the previous book is well-known, however, it was funny then. Now, in her own story with Hayden as her hero, she seems dejected all of the time and that was very annoying to read about. She has trust issues due to her ex-hubby Kirk and is slow to heal, which is completely understandable. But, what kind of hero ever envies those they love most...no Bueno! And her relationship...if that's what you call what they had...is terrifyingly plain! I just couldn't understand stand it no matter how hard I tried. I don't like giving negative reviews, and I try my hardest to put in something positive to say, but I have nothing! I did finish the book but I was sorely disappointed in the story, the characters, the plot, the dialogue. I do give Janet some points because she goes to AA and that is a great step forward, lifting my rating from 1 to 2 stars.

So I hate to say this, but this book was pretty unmemorable. I finished it on Saturday and by the time I came to write my review on Monday, I had to reread the synopsis to remind myself what was happening.
That said, Hayden was really annoying. If you liked the girl so much, why would you treat her like every other one of your hit-it-and-quit-it conquests?
The only thing I found particularly interesting was the story puzzle she created...I'm wondering if there is anything actually like that.
this book was good an well written with good characters cant wait for more from this series. would recommend
I have never read anything by Anna Karington before but after reading this I am excited to. This book was a great read. It showed that everyone has their own issues but that you are still able to find your happiness. This was a quick and well written read.
