Jackson’s Trust is an astonishingly brilliant story that will captivate your heart with mind-numbing passion and fiery determination that you will remember for a very long time to come. There are few words that will do proper justice to this phenomenal story that will rock your world as you watch your heart burn with a never-ending fire of hope, love, and passion. This is a great story that has been turned into an everlasting masterpiece that will etch its very heart on your unsuspecting soul. Nothing can understate or undermine its pure power, unabashed excellence, and unmatched beauty. What a fantastic rush and a superb romance!

Leila is on top of the world when she is offered her dream drop on a local sport network. The even better fringe benefit is stumbling upon the ever intriguing and always heart-melting Jackson. He fascinates her to no end, and his beautiful heart and helpful nature melts her heart and ovaries alike. She feels completely undone by him, and he hasn’t even kissed her. Talk about a walking, talking miracle on sexy legs! Jackson is both enthralled and captivated by Leila’s passion for the job, her unmatched heart, and her magnetic beauty. She is everything that he could have ever dreamed up and so much more. Too bad she doesn’t fit into the plans already written for his life. He can’t deviate from the well-plotted future in store for him. The consequences would be devastating and something he can’t bring himself to even contemplate, and yet she has cast a spell over him. It’s a shame that no one ever thought to tell Jackson that the heart wants what it wants despite a future that eviscerates any hope for more.

I fell hard and fast for the beautiful and feisty Leila, but it was Jackson that destroyed all expectations from my heart. He was so much more than I could have ever imagined, and the closer these two get, the hotter the steam and the more explosive the fireworks! He was the linchpin in this story, and I was hopeless to stop myself from dreaming and wishing the entire time. These two fit each other so effortlessly that I hurt when they put limits in place. There should be no boundaries when the heart is concerned. These two are one of my all-time favorite fictional couples hands down! What a fabulous pair who fought so hard through endless trials to find some semblance of happiness and joy in their challenging lives.

This is the first Violet Duke book that I have read, but I can tell you now that it will not be my last. She was such a tremendous surprise that I was held in complete awe of the power and beauty of her incredible talent and her extraordinary heart. I will never forget this amazing story, and I can’t wait to experience more of her wonderful masterpieces!

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Well that was just a sweet read. I'll be honest, it felt like 2 books in one and there was a pretty big shift in the story about half way through. Leila and Jackson are both football enthusiasts working for the same sports reporting organization when they meet and sparks start flying. It isn't long before friendship turns into slightly more and then turns into even more. The problem? Each of them is dealing with major trust issues. Leila is still thinking about the ex who cheated on her and the father who only sees her as a political pawn. Jackson's issues are a little more complex and I don't want to get into them for fear of spoiling too much of the fun.

Duke put together a great story. I really was rooting for Leila and Jackson the entire time. I wanted them to find their happy ending. I wasn't sure if it was going to work out though...they had a lot getting in their way. I do wish there had been a bit more closure with their families, but I loved the hint to keep us coming back for the Bennett and Donovan's stories. All in all, a fun read.

Jackson's Trust was such a sweet read. I love love loved Jackson right from the beginning and Leila was oh so amazing. I loved Violet Duke and all of her books I have read and this one is no exception. It goes on the favorites list for sure!

Jackson and Leila meet when Leila starts working at the TV station where he works. Right from the beginning this book is so much fun. I just loved it all. Jackson is so sweet and so kind and just an amazing person. He is always trying to help out those who deserve the thanks and recognition while taking little for himself. He prefers to keep himself in the background and let other shine. He was amazing. When he was younger he dreamed of having a wife and family, but now he knows that cannot happen for him. Because of his past he can't have that no matter how much he might want it. All he can offer someone is sex, and he is okay with that until Leila.

Leila was so much fun to read. She is this super smart lady who loves football. She knows her stuff and can even give Jackson, the resident analyst, a run for his money. She is determined not to start anything with him no matter how attracted to him she is. She is a woman in a man dominated field and she has a hard enough time being taken seriously as it is. But Jackson? He is so great. He treats her like she is the amazing, wonderful person she is right from the start. There was no, but you are a woman!?! things with him. He sees how amazing she is and wants her to shine. He doesn't want her to be just anything, he wants her to have everything she wants and he will do whatever he can to help her reach those dreams.

Through it all the two of them are trying to stay just friends, but they were so cute. I loved watching them slowly become more. I loved watching them open up to each other and work through everything. They both have secrets that come out at different times, but oh they were great together. I loved them both so much. Leila was just so much fun and Jackson was incredible. This story did have a few surprises in store, but oh it was such a great read.

I really enjoyed seeing Leila and Jackson get to know one another and develop feelings in this one. A compelling storyline and interesting characters that I liked made this one a very enjoyable read. It made a very good start to a series.

Jackson Gray is a sports analyst. He doesn’t do relationships – all he is interested in is a quick roll in the hay.  Here come Leila Hart – a new sideline reporter Jackson is assigned to train. Leila is smart, sweet and sexy but Jackson has to remain in the friends-zone. Leila’s goal is to become a sportscaster. Under Jackson’s tutelage her dream is about to come true. But her other immediate dream is to lose control with the sexy tutor. Relationship in the work place always prove to be a risky, right? adding secrets on both side, things about to get disastrous. A beautiful friend to lover/ workplace romance. Cute, sweet, entertaining, fast read.

I've read a lot of Violet Duke's books and I've loved them all. Jackson's Trust is no exception! And it just makes me want to read MORE of her books, especially this series!!
Jackson is an uber alpha who doesn't seem to be one at first. More of a closet alpha but holy crap, he was definitely a HOT alpha later in the book. But he's also a truly nice guy and a sweetheart. Jackson is definitely book boyfriend material ladies!
And Leila! I LOVE her! She is a no-nonsense broad (I hate that term but she defines it in my head) who has tried long and hard to play with the big boys in the male-dominated football commentary career track. And for that, I envy her greatly. She has made a successful career from knowing facts and figures and stats about football players, coaches, plays, teams, trades, etc.
The one thing I couldn't understand was the football. I don't understand football at all. That being said, I appreciate and envy the time and dedication that went into the research for this book. The statistical analysis that Jackson and Leila do is just outstanding!

I received a copy of Jackson's Trust to enjoy and for an honest review.
A wickedly engaging story of kindred spirits finding each other woven in amongst minor deception and hidden secrets. Trust and Honesty is tested, weighed and measured for the two main characters. Friendships are formed, relationships cemented.
A wonderful tale written by the fabulous Violet Duke.

JACKSON'S TRUST - Violet Duke

A DIFFERENT SPORTS ROMANCE - 3 stars

Plot - 3 stars - From her first day at work, Leila is physically attracted to Jackson and he to her. But when they are caught kissing, the negative reaction reminds her that she's a woman in a traditionally man's job, so she has to be careful. It's implied that Jackson has some sort of secret as well, which might come between them. The plot is mostly them getting to know each other and trying not to be attracted to each other. Lots of push and pull. As things unfold, they face difficulties from each of their personal lives, as these things affect the future of their relationship.

Writing - 3 stars - Duke writes a good romance, building some nice sexual tension. Unfortunately she got fairly detailed about the sports stats and football ins and outs, which lost my attention. Duke obviously knows her stuff and wanted to show off her knowledge, but it lost me. There's not a lot of action with this book, but it still moved forward quickly. The sex scenes were hot, but they all seemed a bit rushed, as though Duke was hurrying past the regular action to get to the hot spots. As with many romance writers, Duke falls into the trap of going overboard with her descriptions. Leila and Jackson have an over-the-top love for each other, the bad things that happen are overwhelmingly terrible, the amount of money Jackson's family has is amazingly huge. I wish authors would understand the "less is more" philosophy and make a story more believable and accessible rather than so "much."

Characters - 3.5 stars - Jackson is a senior sports analyst with a TV station who is pretty much too good to be true. He's handsome, successful, friendly, and is kind to everyone in the office (and presumably everywhere else), without expecting anything in return. Too much wonderfulness--he didn't seem real. And Leila is the new on-air analyst. She's cute and bubbly and has the same analytical mind and attraction to football stats that Jackson does. There's just something lacking between the characters. They didn't seem to mesh as they should have--the instant romance between them just wasn't particularly believable. Just meh for me, although things got a little better after they switched to a more intimate relationship. The secondary characters of Jackson's friends are great--hilarious and entertaining. I look forward to hearing more about them in future books. But Leila's family were just a little too stereotypical, too annoying, to be very solid background characters.

Title - 3 stars - Not sure why we are focusing on Jackson's trust--his trusting other people (women)? Or are we supposed to trust Jackson? Or is it a play on words referring to Jackson's money? The title was unclear to me.

Cover - 2.5 stars - A nice white background, but with your typical romance genre cover of male abs. I wish romance authors would try to show a little more innovation.

Overview - 3 stars - Not a bad book, but nothing spectacular about it either. I liked that it was a bit different from the usual sports romance, in that the main characters were sports analysts rather than the player/girlfriend. But it didn't excite me. Although, as I got to know them (and as the book progressed), I found myself liking the main characters more and more. One of my pet peeves is the fact that some authors feel the need to create over-the-top drama and add too many superlatives, which takes away from a story rather than adding more excitement. The back stories were good but took a little time to progress enough to interest me. I'll read more in this series because I loved the secondary characters that will obviously be featured in future books.
