I’m conflicted. I loved the nonstop action and camaraderie of the guys. There’s a trilogy before this I haven’t read involving them and the bad guys so it did leave me confused about several details. It’s interesting a lot of people had problems with how Nicole/Siren was so timid and not an outwardly strong h but my issue was Talon. He spent most of the book acting like an immature brat who ran off (literally several times) if he didn’t get the reaction or exact words he wanted to hear. Most of the time it was because she hadn’t finished speaking. I’ve been reading books from the most recent series and since these guys pop up I liked knowing more of their backstory and relationships.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It took a while to remember meeting Talon in The Uncompromising series with Layna and Blaze. It was like meeting two separate characters. He seemed a little more approachable in the first series. He was wearing a mask and in this series the mask was pulled off. He was still mourning his wife and angry about everything. I didn't think I would like him at all in this book but, the story is from his point of view and helps you get to know him and actually like him a lot better. Nicole was not my favorite. She seemed weak at first. Once you hear her story you realize that she is a lot stronger than she first appears. However, the secrets she kept could have cost Talon his life. She ran to Talon but didn't tell him everything. I couldn't quite understand her plan. The story was fast paced and action packed. Plenty of sexy scenes between the two main characters. The supporting characters will offer great stories.
