I've tried twice to read this book, and it's just not my cup of tea. I do definitely see an audience for it with the teens in my library, and would recommend it to anyone looking for strong female protagonists and/or historical fiction of the time period.

Excellent historical background into religious persecution in medieval France give this story strong "legs" to stand on. What a beautiful story of friendship. Sadly, the book does not end happily, but that is a much more realistic ending for a story like this (even though I wanted a happily-ever-after conclusion).

Took me a while to get into the story, but once I did I couldn't put it down! Beautifully developed characters and fascinating story with many layers. Will recommend it to teens who appreciate depth and history in their reading; I've already enthusiastically given it to several adults.

I'm speechless. From the writing and the plot, this book was breathtaking. I can't wait to read more from this author!
