Gorgeously atmospheric, historical tale that was beautifully written and I'd highly recommend. The story was
based on the true-life story of Varian Fry, called "the artists' Schindler," who rescued thousands of Europe's finest creative minds from certain death in WWII.
Such an incredible act of bravery and courage, about a little-known fact in history. I love the dup aspect side to this tale - with Sophie's journey of discovery into the artist' life, and how this helps her to unravel the past and the incredible tale that takes her back to the the The House of Dreams, just outside Marseilles. It's a love story, a tale friendship, bravery, and the importance of the past, in what it can teach us in the future.
