Despite trying for a second time, I’ve given up trying. Perhaps if I could have kept going, I would have found a clever theme but It started off very confusing and not in an intriguing, got-to-figure out what the author is after. Regrets so disappointed because I love novels that make us think, but not in such an odd way. I also love prose that entices, but didn’t find the prose special. Please note that I did not review this anywhere but here, as I only review books on my blog and on Goodreads that I love, both prose and messaging.

I like books that parallel real-world companies to make observations about people and characters. There are parallels to DC, Marvel, and Firefly characters here, as well as a book series that sounds eerily like a Harry Potter/Chronicles of Narnia crossover. It was a very human book, exploring the relationship between mother, son, and estranged father.
