Halfling Riley Scott is on a complicated mission - she's determined to save the soul of her friend but to do so, she needs to break out her enemy from a celestial prison, and possibly hurt other people she loves while doing so.

I appreciated the summary of what happened in the previous book as it's been a good while since I read that one which I enjoyed. The writing in this book was just as good but I think my own reading tastes have developed since reading the first book, and because of that this one just wasn't as enjoyable for me. I got a little bit tired of Riley's guilt and all the secrets which could only lead to a whole load of trouble and as I felt in the first book, relationships between teenagers and men thousands of years old are just creepy now.
