Sela Halstead had her innocence ripped away from her on her sixteenth birthday. Years of struggling to remember, years struggling to forget, Sela's worst memories came crashing back as she sees her attacker on a television spot. After she was sent reeling, Sela's rage won out and she decide to try and confront her attacker, Jonathon Townsend, who is a co-founder of The Sugar Bowl, a sugar baby/sugar daddy connection site.
After finagling her way into a Sugar Bowl mixer, Sela decides to approach Jonathon in an attempt to get him alone. Almost immediately dismissed, Sela runs into Beckett North, the business partner in The Sugar Bowl. There are some sparks and he invites Sela back for one night together. Little did either of them realize that the lines would blur and what they both were seeking would change immensely.
Finally taking the opportunity to read this series from the amazing Sawyer Bennett. She did not disappoint!
4 out of 5 stars.
I am always a fan of reading Ms Bennetts novels. During my time reading romance novels, I devoured reading all of her novels. Sugar Daddy was one that did not disappoint. It was a little more darker than her usual novel, but still enjoyable. As a reader I enjoyed the characters and could relate to them.

This book should certainly come with a trigger warning. While I was fine with the start of the book, the graphic depiction of the heroines assault really took me by surprise. This was especially the case more-so because we get more description of the heroines (view spoiler) than we do the first time her and the hero get it on. Throw in the concept of a contract relationship reminiscent of Fifty Shades back in 2012 and I was less than impressed. Now don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy the book once the characters got over the contract and the heroine juggled her need for revenge to her growing feelings for the hero. This author usually wows me so this book was no different, the details may have not meshed with me but I was 100% involved. What really made me question it all was the way it ended. Stupid me did not realize the series was a trilogy and books one and two end on MAJOR cliffhangers. I would have the heroes less than acceptable behavior did work to hook me into reading more but pissed me off severely. [Regardless the hero finds her snooping in his office the way he manhandled her and grabbed her just pissed me off and made me see red. The way he immediately brushed off her rape remarks in regard to his brother/friend had me want to throttle him given all the shit he'd covered up for this 'friend' over the years. It also made me ponder why he was even friends with someone like that, how could he not see the slime inside of JT? But really him literally throwing her out of his place so she fell on the ground left me with not so good thoughts of the hero and really I almost wondered if he too wasn't more like JT than we knew. I think this will be something that others will also struggle with. His behavior was a bit frightening because anyone who reacts this way in anger has some issues and I was not OK with it. Hell I was at the very least hoping for some serious groveling on his part but guess we'll see how that plays out in the next one. (hide spoiler)] While I wasn't sure about parts of the book, the characters or if I truly cared about what was next, the end ensured I kept going and that Sela got her revenge. It just wasn't going to be as easy a resolution as I expected so be warned these do not work as stand-alones.

Wow…
Can a review be just one word? If so, WOW would be it for this read! Sela. Well, she was on a mission. Heartbreaking, vengeful, her story was a tough one but her strength then and now was amazing. Her quest led her to Beck who was a game changer. How he fit in, besides being hotness overloaded, even after many chapters, for me remains a question mark…
From beginning to end there were heart-stopping moments, twists and turns – all culminating in one heck of a cliffhanger. I knew it was coming but man I wasn’t ready it – not one little bit. Saying I’m on standby for the next in the series is like saying the sun is hot… Hmm… Just like this book…
Darker than I expected, but Sawyer Bennett never lets me down and I enjoyed this book a lot.
I look forward to more from Sawyer and appreciate the opportunity to read and review this book.
I loved Sela! She's so strong despite what happened to her! I do wish the book came with trigger warnings though! Nevertheless the book has set the stage for the trilogy, and I can't wait to read about how Sela takes her revenge!
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
I wasn't sure about this one. The fact that the action of the story is kicked off by a pretty horrific rape is a lot to wrap my head around. That said, Bennett took that and wrote the first installment of three that had me completely enthralled. I couldn't wait to see what happened with Sela and Beck. Would she be able to see how great she had it with Beck? Would she be able to let it get great given her very traumatic past? Bennett really gets you involved with these two. I found myself rooting for them, and yet knowing that when Beck finds out what's really going, it's not going to be pretty.
This book is hot...and it grew to have a huge amount of heart, all things considered. And the ending is definitely a cliffhanger, so make sure you have Sugar Rush loaded up and ready to go.
Omg I love this series of books. So so hot. Can't wait to read more Thanks Netgalley for the Arc and publisher
This story in general is pretty empowering for me as a women. I am not a stranger to Bennett's work so I think it's safe to say that the depth these characters had was well depicted and authentic in a relatable way.
Sawyer Bennett books are perfect! Each one grabs my attention from Chapter 1 and keeps me there! Each book is so different and unique except for the fact that they're awesome!
This book deals with some harsh stuff but it's still very well done!!
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Wow... This book is intense. It starts out startlingly sad. But Sela is no pushover. Though her horrible experience has impacted her terribly, she has a plan. That plan is REVENGE! But when she meets Beck, the sweet alpha male who's best friend and business partner is her nemesis, she struggles with what to do. Does she go forward with her plan, hurting the man she's falling for, or does she let it go and try to live a happy life?
The problem is, JT is never far away. Proving who and what he really is. His disgusting behavior and bad personality won't let Sela let things lie.
When Beck finds Sela in a compromising position, he doesn't give her the chance to explain. Will he get his head out of his a$$ and hear the last words Sela said to him before he slammed the door in her face?
I didn't know what to expect from this book. I've seen it around and I even got the entire series from NetGalley, but never dove in. Something made me get it while I'm doing this Audible thing and I can't believe I never read it before.
Intense read, but really good. Looking forward to see what Sela does next.
Sawyer Bennett is one of my favorite authors out there! I will read whatever she puts out! I love everything she writes!
Sadly this one wasn’t for me. A case of it’s not you it’s me.

This was a great start to a trilogy! I loved Sela and Beckett! The storyline of Sela being brutalized by a group of men and then planning revenge years later was an unusual and interesting one. I'm so worried about what will happen when Beckett finds out about her plans! Can't wait to see what will happen next!
I'm a fan of sawyer Bennett and was looking forward to a new series by her but it was a great read and a good start to a series but I love her hockey book more. Would still recommend this book as sawyer Bennett is a great author and everyone should give her a go
