If you are reading this book as a basic introduction - handbook-wise - to the modern warfare, you will be definitely be happy with the approach, which deals particularly with the various historical evolutions - going back to centuries - of terrorism and generally non-state actors actions in relation with established institutions and states. I was personally interested more in the i-part of the title, due to the actuality of the cyber crimes and use of the dark net by terrorist, non-state entities. From this point of view, the book is rather vague and not systematic, therefore the approach is incomplete and non-conclusive. However, you can use it as an elementary yet rich in details description of terrorism and guerilla warfare in general, especially if you are a student in international relations and/ contemporary history.
