Like always Nina croft has one strong heroine and hero who is hard around the edges and hard on love. After surviving the boat crash Josh wants an annulment of his fake marriage but he has one big surprise. His fake wife is not at all what he expected and after sharing some hot kisses everything changes. I loved the story and how it all develops for those lovebirds.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
I love a good fake marriage story, but this one has a very interesting spin on it. Josh and Lexi having been apart for 5 years added an extra layer of interest to the couple, the book and the trope itself. And the spin of the wealthy heroine needing the marriage and not the hero was fabulous! I’m getting tired of the millionaire/billionaire male, so the fact that Lexi has the money was fun and exciting, especially because of her personality and the way she uses that money..
Excellent writing and interesting characters make this a 4 star read for me.
Her Fantasy Husband by Nina Croft
Lexi Slater was a do-gooder with access to a obscene large trust fund, but she helped fund wonderful projects and she was a well liked person by the community and all those she helped! She was the type of person who brought home strangers and gave them places to stay until they got back on there feet!
However, in order to gain access to this trust and keep it out of the clutches of her evil wicked grandmother who barely tolerated her as she was growing up and from her disgusting third husband Daniel who made Lexi’s skin crawl she had to marry a man she didn’t even know!
Her Godfather Jamie was a military officer and he set it up for her to marry Josh Slater one of his soldiers who he knew would not try and control her or take advantage of the situation! All Lexi knew was that Josh was a soldier and nothing else. They met the day they got married and she needed to stay married for 5 years and 6 months and then she would be 24 and after that her grandmother would never be able to have the ability to take or control her trust .
Everything would have went to plan except Josh had gotten out of the military and started his own security company and things were going great! Then on a trip the yacht he was the Chief Security Officer on was sunk. He almost died and broke his leg and he made a death vow that if he lived that he would slow down and live life and have sex! The last five years he has not had any because he honored his vows!!
What a guy!!!!
This book is actually really good because it is about honor, honesty and being there for family!!
There is some steamy sexual scenes but that only adds to the storyline of a young married couple!!!
I received a advanced copy from netgally and I am willingly giving my thoughts and opinions!!
A-ma-zing!
Nina Croft is genius! She had me from the first page to the last. I could notput it down. From characterization to mannerisms to dialogue to even the romance, 'Her Fantasy Husband's is the sort of novel that romantics dream about.
The plot is out of this world and I just need to read anything from Ms. Nina Croft.
Brilliant work here.
4 stars
I thought this one was really cute. I loved Alexia. I thought she was so sweet and kind. She wanted to use her money for good and to help people. That is where her "fake" husband Josh was equally as adorable and quite the gentleman.
I loved this spin on a fake marriage!
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
This was a fun read! When Josh and Lexi got married five years ago, it was to serve a purpose. She needed control back from her grandmother and he needed the money. Now, Josh is ready to call the whole marriage off. He's eager to put himself back out there and, while their marriage was in name only, Josh ended up staying celibate for those years. When he returns, Lexi is confronted with the man she's been fantasizing about for five years and he wants to call the whole thing off, which would cause HUGE problems for Lexi.
I loved how real these characters were. Lexi wasn't just some trust fund brat and there was a reason Josh was the way he was. It was so much fun watching them pretend to be married, but it was more fun watching them actually learn about each other and come to care about one another. And the love scenes were a great way to add to the heartfelt story.
