Wonderful and sometimes intense story during a tumultuous time in history. Interesting character is to follow along through the maze of pre-war and war and the differences that occur . The sacrifices that someone has to make to protect the ones they love during war. Hard to put down. Good read.

I thought this book was interesting. You don't read a lot about pre-war Liverpool, so it was a nice setting. It was a good read, though not particularly memorable.

It was okay. I liked the plot and some of the characters were okay.

I thought this was a decent historical fiction novel! Some of it fell short to me, but I felt the author was sympathetic toward the plights of her characters, and I enjoyed that the romance in the novel felt real to me.
