This novel was well researched and beautifully written. It was atmospheric about WWII with all of the pain that war brings. It was about a connection, friendship, and love. I couldn’t put it down.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this book. It may be that I'm burned out on World War II books or the subject matter. Either way, I will not be adding a review to Goodreads in order to keep from skewing the ratings. Thanks for the opportunity.

I found the storyline plodded along and the dialogue became rather repetitive. Overall, it was just okay. This is the author’s debut novel and I will be on the lookout for her future works.

A very chilling book. Really grabs your attention and keeps it going until the very last page. The characters really capture you. I didn't want to put the book down once I started. I felt just about every emotion possible while reading this!!
