I Cannot express how much i Loved this book. Lisa Renee Jones is a Master of Romance with Suspense and her wonderful Writing keeps you hooked to the story and this Book was Simply one of the best of her work
It's one of the best book I have read this year. I really enjoyed reading this story. This book pulls you in keeps your interest from beginning till the end.
You will not be able to stop reading until you are finished with this book. Absolutely outstanding. Great Characters & amazing plot.
Loved it! A great sequel to Denial! We get to see more of Ella and Kayden in this one and unravel their secrets!
This exciting sexually charged murder mystery with lots of twist and turns continues right where Denial left off! More intense, steamy, and just an exciting fun read!! The writing was phenomenal and the characters are so well developed you feel like you're part of the scene!
In Demand, Kaden and Ellas's mysterious relationship reach steamy proportions but is that part of a larger agenda?
Some secrets are revealed, but things are never what they seem as more clues lead to more questions.
And then another cliffhanger!
I demand book 3 now!
You cannot read this book as a standalone! You must read Denial in order to understand and appreciate this thrilling story.
Super hot and mysterious. I devoured this in one sitting. Love this author. Thanks Netgalley for the Arc
Lisa really knows how to build up the suspense! Wow! This book gives you a clue just to open a bigger puzzle. Ella sure was a busy girl! One of my favorite things about book 2 in this series is how close her and Kayden become. Even though all of the drama and chaos her past brings, it makes them a stronger and shows a powerful couple. Ella tests alot of that relationship in this book too. She's very firm and does what she believes is right. She's strong on her own even though she really doesn't start figuring that out until 3/4 in this time. The cliffhanger isn't like the first book but by the end you'll be demanding for me. So ready for book 3, Surrender!
I'm really enjoying this series and looking forward to seeing where this all goes. Lisa Renee Jones is a fave for me and her ability to create complicated, dramatic story lines is amazing. Wow - ready for more answers!
OMG the twist and turn I can't get enough, I love these two and the heat steam steam steam can't wait to find out more!!!
Another page turner!
I love Lisa Renee Jones's books! I've read the Inside Out Series, the Tall Dark and Deadly series, and now I'm working on Ella's story.
The intrigue continues...Ella starts recovering more of her memories but doesn't like what she finds. She is filled with fear and dread over the situation that forced her to run, but Kayden is with her every step of the way, ensuring her safety. I love that Kayden is such a protector, in more ways than one. He guards her body and soul. He loves Ella fiercely and he's so swoon-worthy! I always enjoy the way Lisa writes her heroes, but Ella, she is so badass! She is brave and strong beyond her memory and shows that she isn't going to let some mobsters get her down. I could only hope to ever be as fearless as her! And I love that her character is such a strong feminist. I completely relate! Ella is a top notch leading lady, and I can't wait to dive into Surrender to find out how her story ends!
I have to say, Lisa Renee Jones is one of the best at writing romantic stories filled with mystery and suspense!
This second book in the series must be read in order, the story pick up right where it stops. Ella Ferguson wakes up surrounded by the sexy Kayden Wilkens, only she has no memory. She has chosen to trust this amazing man. Kayden is dark and has secrets, and for now treats her with love and kindness. As they explore each other and this relationship, memories are opening in her mind. As she shares these memories with Kayden will he share his secrets? Can they build a life together, and who is this Sara that she is getting glimpses of?
Doubt, nerves, and fear all fester in the middle of Ella's being. She doesn't know a lot of things but her gut tells her a whole lot is going on around her.
Fear of the unknown and fear of her past hold her back. Self doubt and doubt of her connection to Kayden cause her to worry more.
But which is better: fear of the past or her fear of trusting the wrong person? So many unanswered questions and too many tangents to follow. In the end, it all boils down to trust.
Who should she trust?
A million questions are answered and half as many are brought up. Even at the end of this book, you are left wondering about all of it. How will it all end?
I am very excited to have read Denial and Demand back to back because this is one wild ride and the details are still fresh. I recommend doing the same or a reread because I have a feeling even the littlest details are going to be important.

4.5 stars! Demand. book 2 (3). The continued whirlwind affair between Ella suffering from amnesia & her mysterious savior Kayden!
“He kisses me then, a short, hot claiming that is all about demand, two parts fierce, one part a question I don’t understand.”
Books in Careless Whispers trilogy should be read in order:
Book 1: Denial
Book 2: Demand
Book 3: Surrender
In Denial, book 1 (book 1) Ella Ferguson woke up in Italy with amnesia. A stranger, treasure hunter and head of The Underground of treasure hunters, Kayden Wilkens, Hawk, claimed to have found her and made it his mission to protect her. While their attraction brewed it became a race for answers of what happened, who she is and who is out to hurt her?
Demand, book 2 continues Ella’s quest for answers. Her connection with Kayden intensifies with steamy nights of him possessing her and days cocooned in his castle due to his fierce protectiveness. Her returning memory is affording some truths only to raise new questions. Soon Ella is forced to doubt everyone and everything, even Kayden and his motives.
KAYDEN WILKENS, Hawk: American/32 years/Treasure hunter/Head of The Underground/Lt brown hair/Blue eyes/Orphan/Tattoos.
Eight words to describe Kayden Wilkens, Hawk: charming, commanding, secretive, possessive, enigmatic, intense, aloof and dirty-talker.
ELLA FERGUSON, Lady Hawk: American/25 years/Brown (red) hair/Green eyes/Orphan/Amnesia.
Seven words to describe Ella Ferguson: stubborn, resilient, smart, feisty, reflective, strong and impatient.
Demand, told from Elle’s POV, offers the perfect blend of mystery and suspense with a fast paced plot riddled with villains, danger, deceit, greed, conspiracy, blackmail and murder. It ends leading right to book 3, Surrender for the conclusion of their story.
Intriguing plot! Brilliant story-telling! Sexy and possessive Kayden!
A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review.
Demand is book 2 in author Lisa Renee Jones outstanding spinoff series, Careless Whispers. Demand picks up right where Denial, the first book, leaves off. It is a non-stop roller coaster, full of love and passion, intrigue and murder. Ella and Kayden are back, as are all the other characters we met and loved in the first book. I loved every second of this book, and didn’t put it down once. This is solid gold hit! I am very eagerly awaiting the series finale, Surrender! I did voluntarily review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What the whodunit and when!! Ella is a total alpha female badass. Book 2 puts you right back into the action with Ella wheeling a gun and demanding some answers.
Ella is still dealing with memory gaps of who she is or why she was discovered unconscious in the alleyway by Kayden Wilkens. An international plot blows up as Kayden and his team The Underground discovers the mystery behind a necklace tied to the French and Italian mafia.
Ella may or may not be a CIA operative. We are not sure, however she does know her way around a pistol and how to take down would be attackers while drunk. Like I said – a total badass.
There is something sexy about your man gifting you a Ruger instead of diamonds. Meet her little friend Annie!
Demand is sexy, gripping and suspenseful. The multiple layers of mystery will keep the reader engrossed. As we are learning more details about Ella’s past, there are still hefty clues which only touches the surface of what looks to be a compelling conspiracy thriller.
As to be expected, this book picks up exactly where Denial, Book 1, ends. So here’s an important, very obvious tip. Read book 1 first or you’ll be lost, folks. There is a large cast of present and past characters and a multi-pronged plot to keep track of. So, yeah, things are rather complicated, so you’d better pay attention if you want to keep up.
Since I’m usually all about romance, I’m surprised as anyone that this author had me spellbound more by the unfolding plot revolving around Ella than the romantic aspect. There’s was simply too many hidden secrets/unknown that I just had to know that I didn’t mind the constant couple interruptions. Likely because I won’t feel they are truly a real couple until I finally find out who Ella really is and what Kayden may or may not be hiding. We are given quite a few pieces of the puzzle near the end of book 2, but still not quite enough.
With writing that features lengthy discussions that at times comes across clipped, back and forth, and even on occasion in circles, by around 76% I felt there was perhaps too much talk among all the characters rehashing the same content and not enough action taking place. Maybe it’s just my impatience getting the best of me, because I really want to get to the bottom of everything. Of course, that won’t be happening until the conclusion of book 3, Surrender. At least in Demand, we see Ella and Kayden emotionally connect and pledge their love and allegiance to one another, to which we hope will stand strong against the wrath of vengeance of the bad guy who likely still is going to come for his Ella.
So, if you have read book 1 and are like me, you’ll need closure and curiosity will compel you to keep reading. Be prepared for some very graphic smexy scenes with lusty language, folks. At 20%, there was a brief, not overly intense BDSM scene between the main couple and another lengthier one later on in the book. Since that just isn’t my thing, I tend to skip over them. There are, of course, more flashbacks of the abusive type scenes Ella had to endure that definitely made me uncomfortable.
Well, two down...and one to go. It’s time to finally wrap things up with Surrender. Here’s to hoping it’ll make reading all these sequels worth it. Frankly, I feel this story could have been told in a condensed one book version, but that is just my humble opinion. Others may really appreciate the drawn anticipation that gave the author loads of time for flashbacks, discussions, and heroine handwringing.
Title: Demand, Series: Careless Whispers (Book 2), Author: Lisa Renee Jones, Pages: 320, not a stand-alone, must read books in order, first person/dual POV, very graphic smexy scenes with lusty language, some BDSM/spanking, flashbacks of abusive BDSM, amnesia heroine, nobody messes with me or my woman type hero, only a minor mafia element.
Book 1 - Denial, Pages: 321, 11/24/15
Book 2 - Demand, Pages: 320, 5/31/16
Book 3 - Surrender, Pages: 320, 1/9/17

Well, I was all prepared for Demand to end in a cliffhanger that was going to make me growl and yell, but Ms. Jones was actually nice to us this time with the ending (I say that with love)! Now, don't get me wrong I still can't wait to read Surrender, but I don't feel like I'm going to go crazy or that I have to rush this review, so I can get started on it right away. I get to take my time and enjoy writing about this truly excellent read that I completely loved!
Well, now I'm torn here because I was just looking at my review for Denial and I usually write about my favorite character for last and for Demand, I was going to talk about Kayden after Ella, but then I saw I put him first before and so now I'm not sure who is my favorite. And if you're feeling confused after reading that, then I understand because I'm confused just writing it. I don't know, I'm might just go with ladies first because honestly, I loved both of them more than I did before and I can't say who I do love more. Okay, so I'm going to talk about Ella first then.
I said that Ella was bada*s in my Denial review and at the risk of sounding redundant and too praiseworthy - I have to say that she's an ever bigger bada*s than I thought! She's so strong and brave and fierce and loyal. Ella's is wholeheartedly in love with Kayden and she's very protective of him. I can't think of anything that I didn't love about her - she's just an amazing heroine that does everyone proud!
Well, I am happy to say that even though, for some reason of which I have no idea why, it's probably just because I'm crazy, I hadn't fallen for Kayden before, I can say without a doubt that I am totally in love with him now! Kayden is so sweet and devoted to Ella. He's protective and possessive and patient and supportive. Kayden always tries to reassure Ella that he's not going anywhere and that no matter what the future brings, he will never stop fighting for her and that nothing could ever change the way he feels about her. Kayden is absolutely wonderful and while he might not have had my heart originally - it is definitely all his now!
I don't think Demand is quite as suspenseful as Denial, but it is certainly more enlightening. We're learning more about Ella and she's slowly getting her memories back and that just makes it even more exciting. I was completely captured in Ella and Kayden's story and there were times when I never wanted to stop reading and I turned the pages as fast as I could to find out what was going to happen next. Demand was demanding, beautiful and still full of mystery, questions, and anticipation. It was marvelous and I can't wait to get started on Surrender and get all the answers for those burning questions we still have!
Demand is the second book in the Careless Whispers series and it must be read after Denial, it's still only told from Ella's POV, and Ella, Kayden, and the story itself, ends in a good place.
~ A Hopeless Romantic's Booklandia, 5 Stars
Fist bump to the author for putting a recap of Denial at the beginning of this book to refresh your memory if you needed it.
Ella is having more and more flashbacks that give her just a little more to go on. A little more answers but a lot more questions. She knows she's falling more in love with Kayden but what if her memories end up pulling them apart?
Kayden knows that he's in love with Ella and nothing will keep them apart. He's found his soul mate and he's not letting go. He'll make her believe that no matter what, they belong together.
The suspense was making my heart pound! Who to trust, what to trust, it was driving me crazy and I needed to know what was going to happen next.
