Starnes depicts how difficult it is to be a military wife in her memoir. She offers glimpses of her one growing up and how it relates to her adult life. Her dad was often gone for jobs and she became essentially a single parent while her husband deploys. She speaks of the ravages on their marriage, their children, and in herself. In the End she resolves to keep working on the marriage. I think this book would be a good read for anyone contemplating marrying a military person.
