I mostly downloaded this novel because I love the cover (the male model reminds me of James Marsden), and I cannot say that I enjoyed the story as much as I did staring at the cover.
A captivating and emotionally charged romance novel that sweeps readers into the tumultuous world of storm chasing, where love and loss collide in the midst of nature's fury.
As someone who watches Twister religiously, you say storm chaser romance and I'm in. Drew is recovering from the loss of her fiance and decides to spend some time running around with his storm chasing crew to connect better with his memory. His best friend Aiden ends up being our hero and we get a full eyefull of him with other women that I could have lived without. These two made sense though once we got past all of the grief and secrets. Thank you to Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I wasn't quite connecting with this one and I had to DNF with the possibility of picking up in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to read the book and I apologize for the inconvenience.
I loved this book. Could not put it down! This is my 2nd book by this author and she is quickly becoming one of my favorites! Such a sweet story of loss and a second chance at love. 5 stars all the way!!
Blown Away hits you on a deeply emotional level. Characters mixed together through mutual contacts, both coming from places of loss and hardship, yet finding strength in their similar but different situations. Smooth storytelling of a budding romance with its fair share of ups and downs. A very enjoyable read all told.
I have not had a chance to read this book yet. I am still working on catching up and also trying not to get too far behind on other books. I will update this review once I have read the book.
Drew McGovern lost her fiancé in an accident a year ago. In honor of his memory, she decides to join his storm chaser friends for the season. Aidan O'Neal has yearned for Drew for years, but doesn't want to act inappropriately to his late friends' former fiance. As these two are in close proximity, feelings and attraction become impossible to control.
I found that being storm chasers made the characters very interesting to me. The backdrop of the weather situations gave an excitement and lots of action to the story. It was fast paced and kept me on edge to see what would happen next. Good one!
I am going through my Netgalley account and clearing up some titles, I never downloaded this book it archived before I was able to so I am unable to read and review for this reason. I apologize that I didn't know this one had been approved.
Wasn't for me, found it too hard to get into the story an characters. Thanks for letting me try your books. But will try author again thow.
Blown Away.
Exactly what I was when I read this book. I read it within a day because I couldn't put it down! Day job notwithstanding; I HAD to know how Drew (I love women named Drew) and Aiden's story would turn out!
I am not one for extreme weather - I whimper at lightning - but I found the storm chasing phenomenon and information fascinating! It's not something I could do but the level of detail and information that was given by Murph about the storms and cells was just astounding! And I am NOT a science person at all, but I learned some things in reading Blown Away.
Drew is a girly girl, working in a salon, doing girl things but after her fiance dies unexpectedly, she finds herself adrift. Until she runs into her storm-chasing pal who extends an invite to come join the team on their next excursion. Fast forward to the chase. And Drew is "living" with Aiden, Murph, Millie and Tex. Oh Tex. He is a crack up. You can't not love Tex. He has some fantastic one-liners in the book and I'd LOVE to see him have his own story. Hint Hint.
Brenda Rotherham has become a go to author for me! This story between Drew and Aiden was no exception. Drew decides to go on one more chase to honor Colby's memory and she finds herself falling for Aiden. The writing was seamless, the story line enthralling and the characters amazing. Thank you for sharing this awesome couple with us.
