I'm a fan of Cannon's books and this one was a fun read. There are some bumps, unanswered questions and Cannon just seems to end the book abruptly - but thanks to the pacing and some great characters I really enjoyed reading this.
Alissa, owner of a successful ad agency, is a bit jaded after being burned by her ex (who spied and stole from her ... so yeah, Alissa has some baggage). Enter Bert, captain of fishing boat who avoids serious relationships because she spends so much time at sea with her crew. The two meet, flirt a bit and the next thing you know Alissa's boat catches fire at sea (what she is doing sailing alone, how did the fire start - just suspend your disbelief) and she jumps overboard. Bert's boat finds her (seriously, suspend your disbelief) and Alissa is told she has to stay onboard until they complete their fishing expedition as they can't turn back. Silly - yes, but Cannon makes it work in the most enjoyable way.
There's a fantastic burning chemistry between Alissa and Bert that all but sizzles on the page and once they get past their animosity things get really hot and bothered. The story is first person POV, switching between Alissa and Bert so you get a feel for both. I really enjoyed both characters and they are really well matched, if only they realized that before they parted ways once the fishing boat returns to port.. Don't worry - there's a HEA.
