Iris Johansen's third book in her latest explosive trilogy starring forensic sculptor Eve Duncan takes readers on a high-energy adventure with Eve fighting to overcome the odds. Protecting Cara Delaney from the enemies who want her dead leads Eve to be their target. It will take everything she has to rescue Cara, and doing so will put that which is dearest to her at risk. Night and Day is the pulse-pounding race to a conclusion that will have readers on the edge of their seats.
...ummm, no it won't. Well, not me anyway.
I don't want to belabour the point with these series but surely...SURELY...it must be time to move on to something else? Eve Duncan was once one of the most interesting female protagonists in crime fiction.
Now, she is just a shadow of that edgy, slightly different character that I really liked 20 books ago. Her uniqueness has disappeared as she becomes just another character in just another mildly interesting thriller.
Didn't do it for me at all...

This is Iris Johansen's third book in her latest explosive trilogy starring forensic sculptor Eve Duncan. This is classic Johansen with pulse pounding action and a thrilling narrative throughout. Eve is in danger once again as she fights to save her friend and herself. This is a great thrill ride until the last page. All the elements are here that make Johansen such a great author.
Thank you for the ARC that did not influence my review.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review, and I won a copy from the publisher through Goodreads.
This is the final installment of a trilogy within the Eve Duncan series. I gave it a solid three stars. While it did its job of tying up the trilogy, it of course left cliff hangers for the next book, but also brought some of the "sameness" that we could do without. I am a fan of the Cira storyline, yet we still do not advance it at all. Caleb and Jane are still, well Caleb and Jane. The best part about the book was the (spoiler alert) birth of Michael. I know the storyline was getting Eve out of trouble and finding Cara, but Eve is always in trouble (yet she is still my favorite literary character ever). Michael opens a whole new story arc. It will be interesting to see how he plays into future books. Will Bonnie be phased out? How does that effect the Eve/ Joe dynamic? I am excited to see what happens. Hopefully I will be able to read the galley of the next one.....
