As interesting as I found the first couple of books in the series, this one wasn't as impressive. Though it may have had something with me waiting a few years between reading them.
I had enjoyed their rivalry before and what they did to get back at one another, so needless to say I was disappointed that there weren't more funny anecdotes, whatever rivalry that appeared in this book was more out of malice and misunderstandings. I mean, I could understand that, but it wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped.
Overall, the writing was more or less the same and steady, but I wasn't as into the romance as I was before, the number of misunderstandings made me roll my eyes because they were a bit predictable and worn out.
Not strong enough conflict to keep me interested in the story. I'm not a big fan of misunderstandings. This was a did not finished for me

Finally, we get Sawyer Fournette and Regan Lovell's story! These childhood sweethearts both had their heartbroken by one another and have made it their mission to make the other suffer. Regan is the Mayor and Sawyer is the Commissioner, each is trying to make their side of Cottonbloom the best. As the days get closer to the festival the sabotage gets meaner. The two discover they may not be the ones behind the pranks so they team up for the good of Cottonbloom.
I loved the chemistry and banter between these two characters. And, like the second book it also had better characterizations. I also liked that there was a bit of a mystery aspect and wished that part would have been drawn out more. While this third book rounded out the Fournette family saga, there is more in these series with new characters.

DNF.....this book wasn't for me. I won't be formally reviewing or rating this book. It has nothing to do with the author or writing, I just couldn't connect with the story.
The third and final book in the series about Cottonbloom, the quirky small town divided into two sections by a stateline. This is the second chance love story of Regan and Sawyer who were introduced in the first novel. The author has been teasing us with bits and pieces ever since, and it turns out, this story was worth the wait. The best book of the series in my opinion, it is well written and the complex characters are believable and lovable. I was hooked from the beginning and was very sorry to see the end of the book and of the series. I can't wait for Ms. Trentham's next novel!
