The Accidental Boyfriend by Maggie Dallen

I love best friends to lovers and anything Paris, so The Accidental Boyfriend sounded right up my alley. And it was a fun, light romance if you can make allowances for a heroine who doesn't have the firmest grasp on reality. I do wish I had been aware of the fact that this book is part of a series. While it can stand on its own, I also felt like I would have benefitted from reading the first one first. Jack is a great character, but Holly is a hot mess that I struggled to like. Her obsession with Ben was annoying. Who is this obsessed with a guy over a middle school relationship that lasted a couple weeks? I felt like Ben got way too much page time when he's not even a main character. As a result, the book felt like it moved slowly even though it's essentially the length of a novella. Luckily I really liked Jack, and he made the story for me. And I loved Paris and Tuscany. So all in all, I'm glad I read it, but I'm also tired of authors writing super unlikable characters like Holly.

A story set in the city of love, and I'm talking about the France kind, not the Texas ;)

A world-wind romance set in two of the most romantic cities, Paris and Tuscany. I could almost imagine the whole scenario playing out and I so badly wanted to be in Tuscany or Paris while reading it. My dream to go to Paris doubled over while reading the story.

Holly and Jack were a cute couple. Their attraction was palpable from the beginning with only them being blind to it. The only thing I've got to complain was Holly's constant ranting about Benjamin. I swear, even though he had done nothing wrong, I literally hated him. I too flinched every time I read his name and almost felt sorry for him. It was not his fault. It was sweet of Jack to fly him over to Paris and although he did it to make Holly happy, it was what ultimately made her see the truth.. Ultimately we got the HEA we wanted. Hopefully they will see that they belong together and make cute babies like Daniel and Ivy.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

A quick, adorable read...even if I wanted to knock some sense into Holly a few times. She has it set in her mind that she should settle down and has the perfect guy in mind...and he's nothing like Jack who is a total playboy. Fate keeps throwing these two together though, and before you know it, the chemistry is more than Holly's best laid plans can contend with.

Cute with a touch of heat and you get to know enough about the characters to really care about them. I should go back and read the first book, because that sounds like a wild story.

I couldn’t finish this book, I like the author’s writing and have enjoyed many of their books before but this one wasn’t one I could get into. I will try again when the author’s next book is released as I am a fan of theirs.

Loved this kind of enemies to lovers book. They were more afraid of each other than hating each other, and it was fun to watch them accept their HEA.
