What a beautiful and heart moving story. Never in my reading life have I read a regency novel that has struck me as this book did. The amount of emotions that were conjured up while reading is immeasurable. I never thought that a mere regency romance would make me so emotional.
The premise of the story is much more than your average regency romance. The amount that had happened to both our H and h is quite sad. Ethan is one of my favorite regency heroes for sure and Abigail takes home the crown for being one of the strongest ladies. Yes, some of the decisions she took were not for the best but one cannot even imagine what they would do once they were in her place. She had so much courage for a woman given her situations and she deserved a man like Ethan who would love her for who she is truly without any inhibitions.
The romance was not sudden. It was not a romance that had been harbored for a while but a romance that simply flowed. The pacing of the story made it clear to see how the two fell in love and how much they actually felt for each other. It also gave hope to those with the romantic hearts looking for a sweet romance that would stay in our hearts for a long time.
Despite its flaws I really loved this book and devoured the book in just few hours as a matter of fact. I would freely recommend this book to anyone who loves regency romances out there.
