This book was beautifully written with a very descriptive look at 20th century Minnesota, charming characters and a story which is both memorable and poignant. I also enjoyed the inclusion of diary entries throughout the book as these served as interesting tidbits into past events.

nice and in some ways cute story that is very easy to read but utterly enjoyable!
I honestly was not expecting a middle grade read -my own fault i would guess - but i didn't mind that surprise one bit once i got started!
So worth a try not only for children but for adults in need of something enjoyable to read as well!
