This was a well-written spooky story (novella length) and an excellent homage to Robert Louis Stevenson - very much as you'd expect from a writer like Ian Rankin, whose detective John Rebus ranks among the best. It has a literature-obsessed hero who is working in a bookshop in Paris when the chance to buy a long-lost story by Stevenson comes his way. Who could - or would - resist?

This one of a series of "Bibliomysteries", described as short stories by famous writers about deadly books. A very good short read which whets the appetite for more of the same.

I simply did not have time to get to this story. And with the bibliomysteries now being compiled into one volume, I am sure that I will cover them at some point.
