Just could not get into this book. Set in Paris in 1968, the ‘hard edged’ spy protagonist reminisces rather too romantically about his Scottish Highlands upbringing. It’s almost James Bond meets Outlander!
With definite nods to John Le Carre, this is what my Dad would refer to as ‘a man’s book’.
The pace was too slow for this genre and the author missed a trick in not making more of the Paris setting. I’m afraid it’s a no from me...Dad it’s all yours.
